Sky Chief to Icarus: Friendly Fire ... Dudes!

See Moment Brits Were Hit By Friendly Fire
Shocking 15-minute video shows
view from cockpit when US pilots hit British forces in Iraq. Warning: contains
bad language

[This link (above) may not be correct for the video ... yet... but do your own google -- I got there via the Australain Newspapaer front page 07-0207. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/]

=====================================

Killing Lance Corporal Matty Hull... and many 10s of thousands of others ...!

Quite a good audit (and visual if your PC works!) 'insight' into the cock pit world of of jock straps killing groundlings ... only this time it is some UK 'allies'.

Brings back memories of the documenatary on US piliots flying high on anphetamines in Afghanistan and being a clear and present danger to everyone!

These guys don't sound too wacked-out but who knows what 'phamacutical' rocket fuel they fly on now.

They might end with a "we're fucked ..." but not as much as the poor twits down on the ground who painted their tank orange to confuse the enemy... with sky-cowboys like this lot -- who needs enemies.

Of course there is also the obvious implied lack of concern for the little brown people who are defending their country with the equivalent of 'bows and arrows' -- and where have we seen that wild-west story before?

It's 15:44/010:40 and "I'm going to be sick!" ... says the voice of one lonely dude who has flown just a bit too high: Icarus falls at the end of tape.

The breathing gets me ... one can hear the reality of the whole God-dammed mess at high-tech speed.

End of tape...

postscript: but someone has put a alternate view of interest.

Mate! ... it's a done deal!

I was going to shut his section down and then a little gem like this comes along.

It's local and parochial but classic Ozzie dodgy "mate" stuff.

Hear a ‘dip-shit’ local politician, who has been in the game for 20-years, get his strings pulled by a previous State premier who was previously jailed for one of many valid reasons -- and now plays the role of lobbyist.

The real value is to listen to the voices and hear echo’s of the same thing happening all round the world.

Enjoy.

POSTSCRIPT:
I just posted this and 'bing' the audio tapes suddenly vanished from their WA Newspaper site. Then they were back again. So just in case some text is available at

Al-Jazeera

Free press and multiple voices in the arab world

Key message
In 10-years Al-Jazeera has contributed to fundamental changes in the Arab world with the authorities and tryants not as free to control and manipulate as before.

Has contributed to a climate of greater accountability, position to question, transparency, and demonstrations for a range of issues.

It has been a force for growing civic society and participation.

[update: see english version of Aljazeera TV etc: http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/55ABE840-AC30-41D2-BDC9-06BBE2A36665.htm]

No Mercy - Faith is Important

Key message
The US shows no mercy: and faith is important for strength in times of max stress.

SBS Alchemy link: Guantanamo Bay

$5,000 (US) ransom notes are dropped and poor tribal peoples hand in anyone who looks the part.

David Hicks is still there but for some their eventual release may mean death in their home countries.

Are they not then refugees?

Self-Exiting & Governance Systems @ Work

This audit has been taken from the first part of this audio file link (above) which outlines the case study where the parliamentary systems of government (State & Federal) are being placed against each other over the rights of:

a) freedom of speech and information;
b) lawfulness of parliamentary privilege; and
c) duty of elected members to present their views and make these publicly known, sometimes against the wishes of others.

We see the absurdity of these parochial laws and system of democratic governance that have yet to come to terms with the global internet.

The ‘systems news’ is not that this information is available on the internet but that two systems of governance are in conflict due to the content of the message and its placement on international public access media.

Like in various “public good” censorship cases about drugs in sport (e.g. AFL high flyers on cocaine) it is considered, by some, that this information should not be made available on electronic public access. But printed paper is ok -in this case because of the implications to the system if changed!

Work it out?

I would not be surprised if there are not various people working on how to change the democratic system and this parliamentary privilege so that “this cannot happen again” and all control and policy emanates from central control room only. ‘Canberra’ in this case.

Have a listen -- and I am not endorsing the content - just the right to know.
